The College of Agriculture and Research Station, Mahasamund was set up in 2018 with foundation stone laid by former Agriculture Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Brijmohan Agrawal on 1st October, 2014 at Village Kanapa (NH-53) of Mahasamund district. It is the constituent College of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur. During 2018-19 session, 24 students were admitted in the first batch for a four-year degree programme leading to B.Sc. (Ag.)Hons. degree. and their classes were held at the College of Agriculture, Raipur. During 2019-20 the College start functioning in the DIET building of Education department, Mahasamund. The district administration had allotted 78 acres of land Thereafter, the College was shifted to, Kodar Resort (Tourism Department of CG Government), Kanpa, which is situated on the NH-53 and 12 KM away from Mahasamund. The College is currently functioning with 6 regular faculties, 1 librarian, 4 guest faculties, 3 supporting officials and 107 students in four batches. The newly allotted barren land has been fenced and about 50 acres of land is brought under cultivation. Rice, Pigeonpea, Finger millet etc. Read more…
